Liposuction for Men

Unfortunately, sometimes even a healthy diet and adequate exercise can't get rid of unwanted fat in certain areas. Liposuction is a way to target those hard-to-change areas, by removing and sculpting excess fat. The result - a leaner, more defined and fit looking body.

Is this for me?

If you are unsatisfied with the amount of fat you have on a particular part of your body, liposuction surgery can remove unwanted fat and improve body contour. Liposuction is also a popular procedure for those who have a "double chin" - an area that is often resistant to diet and exercise. The ideal candidate for this procedure is a healthy adult that is within 25 pounds of their ideal body weight. Liposuction is not a cure for obesity or cellulite, but is used to remove stubborn fat deposits./p>

Procedure:

The techniques used in this procedure, will not only correct the fat distribution, but also treat the elasticity of the skin. In some cases, these techniques can be used to correct muscle damage as well.

Liposuction is a fundamental procedure to remove fat. If needed, the fat will be collected and used to transfer to select areas (for example, the gluteal mass).

The base of modern liposuction is called "Tumescent liposuction", which involves infusing the fat deposits with a large amount of saline solution. This is done with a local anesthetic and epinephrine to reduce the amount of bleeding. After a set amount of wait time, the fat is then removed by a small wand (a few millimeters in diameter).

There have been vast improvements made in this procedure over recent years. With the introduction of the laser or "Vaser" (ultrasound), both techniques selectively destroy the fat while stimulating the skin to retract. The recovery time of this method is much quicker. There is also a technique known as "vibroliposuction". This technique uses a similar vibrating wand that includes a tumescent infusion; which helps to facilitate the extraction of fat deposits.
